Avon Motorsport has confirmed that 2012 was its most successful year on record, with the manufacturer supplying tyres to a remarkable 198 champions across multiple disciplines around the world.
Under both the Cooper and Avon brand names, Melksham-based Avon Motorsport consolidated its position as a world-leader in four key areas of competition, remaining the tyre supplier of choice to a huge range of hillclimb, rallycross, GT and single-seater championships worldwide.
Avon’s champions span the globe, from Madrid Hillclimb Champion, Jonathan Alvarez, to Holland’s BOSS GP Open Class Champion, Klaas Zwart.
The use of Avon rubber was most widespread across the UK where Avon took no fewer than 55 champions to title glory in 2012 in series ranging from the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and Cooper Tires British F3 Series to the Avon Tyres MSA British Hillclimb Championship.
Further afield, Avon saw its motorsport presence in Australia grow in 2012, with a total of 10 champions, compared with six in 2011.
